Dr. Krishna Banerjee is a U.S. registered patent attorney and has over two decades of experience preparing and prosecuting US and foreign patent applications. His practice includes Intellectual Property (IP) due diligence work such as analyzing exclusivities and freedom-to-operate positions, drafting and amending licensing and other agreements in pharmaceutical/biotechnological (primarily small molecules) and chemical areas, and participation in patent strategy and life-cycle management teams.
IP review of publication requests, managing patent agents and patent assistants who were his direct reports, mentoring/directing trainees, and extensive client counseling were additional aspects of Krishna’s work in the past. He managed and worked with outside counsel in European patent opposition proceedings and in the filing of patent applications and office action responses. Krishna is familiar with FDA drug laws and orange book listing; and Hatch-Waxman litigation.
Krishna has experience in chemical/materials technologies and life sciences/healthcare technologies. He has experience in various areas of small molecule organic chemistry and in various therapeutic areas including ophthalmology (neuroprotection and neurodegeneration), dermatology, oncology, anti-infectives, central nervous system (CNS), and inflammation & allergy. His technical experiences include but are not limited to RNA interference for gene silencing, peptides, enzyme inhibitors, biochemical assays and test kits, catalysis, electronic chemicals, polymer chemistry & processing, antireflective coatings, fine chemicals, surfactants, dyes, textile, leather, paper, semiconductor processing and applications (lithography, photoresists, etc.), fuel (diesel and gasoline) and coating additives, oil-field chemistry, electrorheological fluids & others.
